Sex Offender Disclaimer

The Colorado sex offender registry includes only those persons who have been required by law to register and who are in compliance with the sex offender registration laws. This website only applies to those registered sex offenders in the unincorporated portions of the Town of Olathe. Persons should not rely solely on the sex offender registry as a safeguard against perpetrators of sexual assault in their communities. The crime for which a person is convicted may not accurately reflect the level of risk.

Pursuant to Colorado Revised Statute, 16-22-112, law enforcement agencies are authorized to release information about sex offenders living within the agency’s jurisdiction to residents of the jurisdiction. Sex offender registry information is made available to citizens so that they may better protect themselves and their children from these known sex offenders.  Because of the limitations that this advisement outlines, citizens are discouraged to disseminate this information any further. Other citizens requesting registry information should be referred to the Olathe Police Department. Offenders’ addresses are reported at the time of registration and are updated when new information becomes available. The registry information released to you today changes frequently resulting in constant list updates.

Due to the mature content of registry information, it is not advisable to disseminate registry information to young children. It is strongly recommended that a parent or guardian discuss the information with children and educate children regarding personal safety strategies.

The Colorado sex offender registry includes only those persons who have been required by law to register and who are in compliance with the sex offender registration laws. Persons should not rely solely on the sex offender registry as a safeguard against perpetrators of sexual assault in their communities. The crime for which a person is convicted may not accurately reflect the level of risk. Some sex offenders live in the community under criminal justice supervision (probation or parole), and supervising officers, in cooperation with other professionals, monitor their residence, activities and compliance with court conditions. Some sex offenders are under no supervision, as they have already served their sentences but are still required to register with law enforcement.

The use of this sex offender registry information to harass, threaten, or intimidate any registered sex offender, his/her significant others or any member of their community supervision team is a criminal offense and may result in criminal prosecution.

The use of this information for direct solicitation of business for pecuniary gain is a criminal violation under Colorado Revised Statute 24-72-305.5. The Olathe Police Department will follow up on unlawful use of this information.

The Olathe Police Department is available to provide useful information regarding sexual assault and personal safety, and to make referrals to other local resources to help those who have been impacted by sexual assault. If you have information regarding current criminal activity of these or any other offenders, please call 911 or (970) 323-4357.

By law the most complete and up-to-date registry can be obtained in person at the Olathe Police Department.

Juvenile offenses and juvenile offenders are not listed on this website. Contact the Olathe Police Department for additional information concerning these offenders.

If you believe any information found in these records is incorrect or if you have any questions, please contact CBI’s Program Support Unit at (303) 239-4222.
